Frank Underwood’s Warning: American Democracy or Republican Pathocracy?

“We must now acknowledge the reality that we have allowed the Republican party to become the largest and most lethal organized crime syndicate and terrorism network in world history.”

–– Andy Caffrey, 2014 Democratic candidate for Congress (CA-2)

Frank Underwood's WarningAs we get reacquainted this Valentine’s Day weekend (2014) with Vice President Frank Underwood in season two of Neflix’s TV show, House of Cards, it behooves us all to consider the most fundamental lesson provided by the show: We have psychopaths running our democracy. And they are destroying it and the planet. They are ruthless. We must stop them before it is too late!

Medically, a psychopath is someone who does not have a “conscience and [is] incapable of empathy, guilt, or loyalty to anyone but themselves.” (Hare, Snakes In Suits) About 1 in 100 people in the general population are psychopaths, so there are over 3 million of them in the United States. It is also known that they concentrate at the tops of corporations and in elected government offices, and they are almost always men.

Harvard’s Ronald Schouten, MD, JD, even describes how some people who cluster around psychopaths become themselves “Almost Psychopaths.” Psychopathic morality, behavior, and deformed ways of thinking are contagious, and spread like a virus. An entire national culture can thus effectively become a malignant psychopathic infection. Just ask the Germans. Imagine only Fox News, Pat Robertson, and Duck Dynasty on television.

Psychopaths don’t have a bad conscience, they have no conscience. This is not a moral evaluation. It’s physiology. Their brains do not have the punishment circuitry which makes the rest of us feel shame, embarrassment, or guilt by feeling crappy when we do something bad as we’re growing up. That physiological negative reinforcement by our brains of bad behavior develops conscience and character by adulthood, usually. That didn’t happen with someone like Texas Senator Ted Cruz or former President George W. Bush.

Fortunately for us, we can use science to discern these people, and if we heed the warning of House of Cards, then the next thing we must do is figure out how to get these people out of office before they kill the planet with their continuing, relentless, decades-long conspiracy to subvert the national security prophylactic actions of the entire nation against the nation-collapsing threats of permanent, catastrophic, climate destabilization. They are holding us all hostage, keeping us dependent on fossil fuels, enslaved like a nation of petro-junkies.

The unhindered (by Nancy Pelosi Democrats) psychopathy of George W. Bush has literally murdered a million Iraqis and countless Afghanis (so far) in completely illegitimate “wars” that utterly destroyed two nations, one of which is absolutely blameless in any transgressions against our nation. The guy who ran that country, Saddam Hussein, got executed; but serial mass murderer George Underwood Bush is still left to himself, painting pictures of his ass, completely unprosecuted.

This is despite the fact that the successful prosecutor of psychopath Charles Manson, former Los Angeles District Attorney Vincent Bugliosi, wrote an entire book, The Prosecution of George W. Bush for Murder. What’s up with that? Didn’t Pelosi think global serial mass murder was an impeachable offense, or might Pelosi herself be covering up her own culpability in facilitating Bush’s war crimes?

NeuroimagingFirst, there is the emotional words test. The test subject is shown a series of slides of words and slightly misspelled almost words. Some of these words have an emotional charge, like “baby,” “love,” or “cancer,” and when they are flashed among the unemotionally charged words like “wood,” “concrete,” or “air,” to the nonpsychopathic viewer, all kinds of circuits in the brain light up which never light up when the psychopath views them, because the psychopaths don’t have those circuits at all.

I think every member of Congress and every President should be challenged to take the emotional words test.

Then there is the industry standard Psychopathy Checklist (PCL-R) developed by the world’s most eminent scientist of psychopathy, Robert D. Hare. It’s pretty simple, but it has “withstood the test of time and scientific scrutiny.” (Hare, SIS) In the screening version (PCL:SV) there are twelve traits and the evaluator determines whether each of those traits are typical of the person, which earns a score of 2 points, or if the “trait applies only partially or sometimes,” (Hare, SIS) which scores one point, or not really characteristic at all. So there is a maximum score of 24 points.

So let’s check out, oh say, all of the Republicans in the House and Senate. Psychopathic characteristics are exhibited to me by their unanimous votes to shut down the government–and to literally set about dismantling our democracy and destroy our nation’s good credit and the economy.

As a scientifically-trained layman using common sense and decades of experience suffering from psychopaths (and studying about them) and a passionate defender of America and the planet in this time of climate crisis, here’s how I see it:

Al top potential GOP 2016 candidates investigated, indicted, or finedTo heartlessly kill unemployment benefits for millions of people on the verge of losing their homes and trying to keep their families together and well, to be heedless of the suffering of the poor without adequate healthcare, especially American children who go hungry every day, while doggedly preventing any more taxation of the Super Rich plutocrats, and to either pretend that climate destabilization is not real, or not even bother to master the essential scientific and strategic understandings morally required of anyone in the modern world entrusted by the American people with their national security, leads me to score them all the following way, as a minimum.

That’s not considering any adolescent sociopathic behavior, obvious for example, in the youth of both George W. Bush and Dick Cheney, which scores them both two more points. I don’t know about the youthful lives of most of these legislators, so many of them will score even higher than this.

Here we go. These traits reveal four factors of the psychopath. “The interpersonal domain describes how they present themselves to others, the affective domain includes what they feel or don’t feel emotionally, the lifestyle domain describes how they live in society, and the antisocial domain describes their propensity for antisocial behaviors.” (Hare, SIS)

Out of the twelve items of the Psychopathy Checklist (PCL-SV), I would score them all with twos for:

1 – Deceitful, Pathological Lying. Relentless lying, without shame: e.g. lying us into war, about there being a national debt crisis, and about Obamacare.

2 – Grandiose Sense of Self Worth (plays by own rules, ignoring society’s rules): e.g. shutting down the government and threatening the default of the nation on the debts that they, the Republicans, voted to take on for the nation.

3 – Glibness/Superficial Charm: e.g. praising a maimed soldier at the last State of the Union address while unapologetically and recklessly sending 10,000 U.S. soldiers off to die in Iraq and Afghanistan to kill millions more, while lying about it; launching murderous drone attacks on innocent people.

4 – Lack of Remorse and Guilt: e.g. I know of only one Republican Congressman who has apologized for unleashing the Iraq War.

5 – Callous/Lacks Empathy/Insensitivity to the Suffering of Others: e.g. vote against unemployment benefits and fight for $40 billion in SNAP cuts; vote for and fund for over a decade the extermination of a million muslims in illegal wars.

6 – Doesn’t Accept Responsibility for Own Actions: e.g. the colossal failure of the sequester deal; killing a million Iraqis; costing the economy $24 billion in lost economic output by shutting down the government. That’s a 0.6% drop in annual GDP growth. (Moody’s)

7 – Is Irresponsible: e.g. killing a million Iraqis; shutting down the government; the sequester deal; no federal budgets for four years; 113th Just Say No Congress is least productive in history; over 40 Obamacare votes, but nothing else; debt default threats and actions; overthrowing the Gore presidency.

8 – Has a History of Adult Antisocial Behavior: e.g. killing a million Iraqis; overthrowing the Gore presidency; attacks on voter access and rights; corrupt district gerrymandering, everything ever broadcast on Fox News or uttered by Contalk Radio show hosts.

9 – Has a History of Poor Behavioral Control: e.g. killing a million Iraqis and 10,000 American troops as a response to the 9/11 attacks; over thirty years of inaction on the climate crisis; Republicans shutting down the entire 113th Congress making it least productive in modern history; Rush “Oxycontin” Limbaugh, Bill “Fuck It!” O’Reilly.

OK. Let’s stop right there for a moment. Nine characteristics times two points is 18 points, the “cut score… typically used for a diagnosis of psychopathy.” (Hare, SIS) That’s for all of the Republicans in Congress! Hundreds of them!

But there’s more, which perhaps don’t apply to every single Republican in Congress, but do to many of them:

10 – Is Impulsive: e.g. killing a million Iraqis and 10,000 Americans as a response to the 9/11 attacks which killed 3,000 people, and obliterating two entire nations, by launching two wars. That’s killing more American citizens than the 9/11 terrorists murdered. Republican Friendly Fire.

11 – Lacks Goals: e.g. no Republican goals for legislative accomplishments in the 113th Congress except to shut it down; the Bush Wars. No exit strategy. Starting wars that have no possible good ways of ending and no possible ways of making anything better.

12 – Has a History of Adolescent Antisocial Behavior.

Wow! The Republicans make Frank Underwood look like Mother Theresa!

The Democrats don’t get off the hook. I’ve met many psychopaths in activist groups, progressive activist groups. Those psychopaths were feminists, environmentalists, anti-war, anti-NSA spying, pro-labor, name your altruistic cause; and you are likely to find strong advocates, even charismatic and popular liberation and equality movement leaders, who are nevertheless psychopaths. Consider the TV psychopath Dexter if you want to see how easily they can fit in. They are excellent and shrewd observers, and like Frank Underwood, they know how to mimic appropriate behavior. They have average or slightly above average intelligence.

I have concerns about Nancy Pelosi who in one of the most grandiose actions ever taken by a House speaker decided to, despite swearing an oath to protect it, subvert the Constitution when she took “impeachment off the table.” Think how different this country would be now if Bush and Cheney had been impeached and convicted in 2007. The Republicans would have then not won the House back in 2008 and Obama would have had a Democratic House and Senate for all of both terms.

We would have single-payer health care, climate legislation, a jobs bill, unemployment benefits and no SNAP cuts. No sequester, no government shut downs, no downgrading of America’s credit. Pretty much Obama’s entire centrist agenda would be law now. Instead of painting pictures of his ass, George W. Bush would be be in prison looking out for his ass.

None of that happened because Nancy Pelosi took impeachment out of the Constitution in her House.

There is even a study done in 2004, Personality, Character, and Leadership in the White House, by Steven J. Rubenzer, Ph.D., and Thomas R. Faschingbauer, Ph.D., in which scientists evaluated all of the U.S. presidents for mental health characteristics and disorders, including psychopathic traits. Bill Clinton, Ronald Reagan, and John F. Kennedy are among the top scorers along with Nixon and LBJ–even FDR and Teddy Roosevelt. LBJ scored lower than 999 Americans out of 1,000 on the character scale! (No wonder he’s Frank Underwood’s favorite president!) However, they have an entire chapter on George W. Bush.

The authors conclude, “The ability to lie and deceive is an important quality for success in the White House, and presidents that are less straightforward typically make better presidents…. Presidents are much more extroverted today than in the past and less intellectually curious than in the past. They may also be lower in character.”

But you can give the Dems some credit. They’ve produced the only president in modern times who “much resembles Founding Fathers Jefferson and Madison and the greatest president of the nineteenth century, Abe Lincoln.” That’s Jimmy Carter. However Republican/almost Democrat Dwight Eisenhower “is the only modern president much like Washington.”

Hillary's Email Defense is LaughableHillary Clinton is no Jimmy Carter or Dwight Eisenhower. When she just fabricated the lie that she had been shot at from sniper fire while landing on the tarmac in Bosnia, she revealed herself to be deceitful, grandiose, impulsive, irresponsible, superficial, and having poor behavioral control.

As far as I know, she has not apologized for that bizarre whopper of a lie, so she also shows no remorse and doesn’t take responsibility for her actions. At the time she said she “misspoke” and that it was only a “minor blip,” even though she vividly described running “with our heads down” from the plane to avoid sniper fire at the Tuzla Air Base: “I say a lot of things — millions of words a day — so if I misspoke, that was just a misstatement.”

If you just score her 2 points for each of those traits, she scores 16 points. When she did this, I experienced her as a psychopath and decided to vote for Obama solely for that reason. He does show remorse and takes responsibility for his actions more so than any other president I’ve witnessed.

Even though I doubt he is a psychopath, he does score two points on some of those characteristics as revealed by his drone warfare, and NSA spying operations. Most of the rest of us nonpsychopaths usually score in total no more than a 2 out of 24. I score zero, as do most of the people I know. The average score for criminals is 13. So Republicans and many Democrats in Congress, and the entire Bush regime score higher on the scale of psychopathy than do criminals. They even score higher than the Boston bombers!

There is even a scientific term for a government run by psychopaths: pathocracy. John Boehner, Mitch McConnell, and Grover Norquist run the Republican Pathocracy and Americans better wise up, especially the Republican voters that are voting them in! I wonder what it is about Republican voters that they only vote psychopaths into Congress or for President… Consider the fact that everyone who made it into the Republican presidential debates in 2008 and 2012 easily meets the psychopathy threshold.

We have got to oust these psychopaths from the highest positions of government NOW if we want enough climate action in time to avert creating a world of permanent climate chaos… before the commencement of the Runaway Disintegration of the Greenland and West Antarctic ice sheets.

There is no higher priority for our nation or for your activism. Everything else we want to accomplish as a society hinges upon it. Seriously. If the Republicans keep control of the House and continue to use the filibuster to stymie the Senate, they will bring about the collapse of civilization as our nation is crushed by climate destabilization and chaos, crashing ocean fisheries, twenty feet of sea level increase–probably over the course of only 20 years–an Amazon ablaze, unleashed melting permafrost and ocean methane hydrates bumping global atmospheric temperatures up as much as 6 or 7 degrees C in less than a century, and an extinct middle class because the Republicans have no consciences. Please, check it out for yourself!

Just consider some of these obviously psychopathic behaviors by the Republicans in just the last few weeks.

Going Rogue and Bizarre at Republican Debates NYT By Alan Rappeport1) The Republican party has at least 18 fake candidate websites soliciting contributions for Democratic Congressional candidates that actually funds their Republican opponents. this is in violation of FEC Rule 102.14(3): “An unauthorized political committee may include the name of a candidate in the title of a special project name or other communication if the title clearly and unambiguously shows opposition to the named candidate.”

The National Republican Congressional Committee response? “It’s no surprise that Democrats are nervous that the truth is finally getting out about their disastrous records, but despite their whining, we plan on continuing to showcase their support for Obamacare and other failed Washington policies straight through to election day.”

2) Mike Rogers, chair of the House Committee on Intelligence, on national TV just made up the completely unsubstantiated charge that Edward Snowden is a Russian spy.

3) Unemployment benefits eliminated and radical cuts made to SNAP. The Republicans got $8 billion in SNAP cuts, but wanted $40 billion in cuts. Democratic New York Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, one of only nine Democrats to vote against the farm bill, emphasizes that 300,000 families in her state alone will recieve $90 less each month in SNAP benefits. Along with the Republicans, all but nine of the Democrats signed the farm bill with these cuts.

4) Still trying to take away healthcare from the poor and middle class with their faux attacks on Obamacare under the guise of pretending to help the people who are fortunate enough to have health insurance. To work to take down healthcare for the 50 million poorest Americans without first installing a better system to protect everyone is unconscionable!

5) Taking the recent CBO numbers about the equivalent of 2.5 million people leaving work because of the end of health insurance job lock and saying that it means Obamacare will cost 2.5 million jobs when it really means that there will be 2.5 million job openings! If four workers at a company decide to cut back a 50-hour workweek by 10 hours each, to only work a 40-hour workweek, the boss still needs those combined forty hours covered, so he’ll hire a new worker to work those 40 abandoned hours. So that’s 2.5 million more jobs created by Obamacare.

6) Republican governors and state legislatures who prevent the poor in their states from getting Obamacare medicaid expansion. Nineteen states are refusing to enact Medicaid expansion. Six others are stalling as they continue debating the issue.

In Arkansas, Tea Party Republicans are threatening to take away healthcare from 100,000 Arkansans, and, according to Chris Hayes, “quite possibly cause the entire Medicaid program in the state to collapse.” This is contrary, of course, to the bogus Republican lies that the worst thing that could happen to you is that Obama would keep you from having the health insurance plan that you want. Ironically, Arkansas was one of the few southern states to take the Obamacare money to expand Medicaid. This was because the Arkansas plan just took the federal money and used it to buy private insurance plans for the poor. The Republicans are holding the entire Medicaid funding bill hostage unless those 96,000 people are kicked out of the program.

This is a Republican conspiracy to commit negligent homicide of thousands. A study by Harvard and City University of New York estimates the Republicans nationally will murder between 7,000 and 17,000 people from failure to expand Medicaid. Six million people nationally will continue to go without healthcare because of the Republican thugs of those 19 states. Is Soylent Green around the corner?

7) Boehner, McConnell, and almost all of the other Republicans just making up the lie that Obama won’t enforce new immigration laws, when he has deported more immigrants than any other president.

8) Now the Senate Republicans are concertedly impugning all of the Democrats as liars! As Chris Matthews reports, “Republicans want to use healthcare to sow the seeds of distrust against all Democrats. According to The Hill newspaper, ‘Republicans focused on winning the Senate have a clear goal this year: convincing voters that vulnerable Democrats are liars…. The goal is to erode voters’ trust in respected members….’

Flummoxed, Matthews continues, “They keep fanning the flames of hatred, the ideological fury. You must hate Obama, because you hate Obamacare. You must hate all Democrats because his promises weren’t fulfilled.” It reminds him of the Cold War Red Scare: “Everything was a Cold War issue. The Republicans let nothing be talked about, anything else, jobs, unemployment, education, healthcare–forget all that! It’s the Cold War and you’re on the wrong side….In this case, every single Democrat has a character flaw because they voted for healthcare, and therefore they are a part of the Big Lie….”

9) Accusing the most Congressionally ingratiating president in modern history, Obama, of using the executive order to run an imperial presidency, when history clearly shows that it has been the Republicans who connived and conspired for one-party rule from the White House. Just ask Karl Rove. This didn’t stop the plutocratic radical Rep. Marsha Blackburn from Tennessee, on Meet the Press, from both defending Bill Clinton’s executive order:

“One of the things that we have to remember is cost-benefit analysis has to take place, and that is something–that goes back to a Clinton executive order. And it is required. And it is unfortunate that some of the federal agencies are not conducting that cost-benefit analysis. They’re focused on the outcome.”

… and darkly condemning Obama (and dooming the planet) using it now to reduce emissions from coal plants:

“The President should realize that Congress has taken action. Whether it was cap-and-trade or Boiler MACT or any of these regulations, we have said no to that. And one of the reasons is the cost-benefit analysis. Another is the impact.”

The cost-benefit analysis has been done: there is no possible benefit worth the cost of a dead planet from inadequate climate action in time.

Republican House majority Leader Eric Cantor: “President Obama has provided new clarity as to what constitutes an ‘imperial presidency…” The House will consider a number of bills… to restore the balance of powers created by our founders.”

10) Two words: Chris Christie. “Our party’s priority should be on winning. Not on winning the argument, winning the election.” “Blame the mayor of Fort Lee!” As you watch his show on TV from here on out, see how many psychopathic traits you can spot in the glib, impulsive, irresponsible, deceitful, superficial, callous, unempathetic, grandiose, unrepentant, remorseless, antisocial Christie, who lacks behavioral control.

As a Congressional candidate I can assure you that if anyone working for my campaign had screwed up big time, especially if it negatively impacted or hurt others, there is no way I would not have picked that person’s brain to find out the complete extent and every last detail of what was screwed up and what needs to be stopped, fixed, apologized for, etc. Because everything they do reflects on me and I am the one accountable for it and the one who must take full responsibility. How could I do that if I didn’t know everything. Everything I didn’t know could still be going on and making things worse!

Consider this scenario: This was all Chris Christie’s plan so he knows everything that happened. That’s the reason for him not having asked Bridget Anne Kelly, his deputy chief of staff, every last detail and name of everyone involved before firing her! He knew it all already! Why bother sitting down and having her recount every detail that both of them already know. Just have her clear out her desk and look for cover.

But Christie knows that if he admits to having asked Kelly for the whole story before firing her, then he would have no excuse for not answering answer the question: “If she did this to you, what did she say happened?” By implausibly insisting (and us cutting him slack on credulity) that he didn’t ask her, we let him get away with not answering that question, and his scam goes on weeks or months more.

Since it is his plan, as a psychopath, he nevertheless does have to fabricate an entire Wizard of Oz fairy tale to escape justice, but he has to reveal the absolute minimum that he can plausibly get away with.

Because he knows once he starts making it up that to get away with it, he must fabricate a perfect fairy tale (which he is obviously too stupid to do, and he probably knows that). Every detail he fabricates is one more opportunity for the fraud to be exposed. Much better to just keep the secret of what happened isolated from scrutiny. Lies that aren’t said can’t be exposed as lies. I learned this in junior high when I wrote a paper on the Emergency Core Cooling System of nuclear power plants. The lesson: the more complicated a system of safeguards you design multiplies the possible things that can fail.

When he gets pushed up against the wall of plausibility, he just pushes the limits of plausibility into absurdity (what else can he do?), hoping in this Fox News-gullible world that he can bully us into not looking close enough. But it truly is beyond plausibility that this was all Kelly’s scheme and he didn’t find out everything from her. Chris Christie letting an underling completely fuck over his presidential career forever and not water-boarding every last detail out of her? Are you kidding me!

So if Chris Christie is a psychopath, then apparently Mitt Romney would agree with me that the entire party leadership is psychopathic, because he said, “They don’t come better than Chris Christie.” Exactly my point! Nevertheless, Wanna Be Pathocrat-in-Chief Romney continues the glorification of psychopathic attitudes and policy develpment for the Republican party: “Chris could easily become our nominee and save our party and help get this nation on the right track again.”

11) The Republican War on Voting Rights. Republican anti-Constitutional voter suppression conspiracies in more than three dozen states to subvert voting rights and disenfranchise minority voters.

12) Another two words: North Carolina. As Lawrence O’Donnell reported on MSNBC, “Under Republican control in North Carolina: 500,000 people have lost Medicaid coverage; 900,000 lost the earned income tax credit; new restrictive abortion laws; and new restrictive voter ID laws.”

13) Banning contraception.

14) Decades of Good Ole Boy gutting of regulations, enforcement, and budgets for agencies that would otherwise protect us from toxic spills in West Virginia and coal ash spills in North Carolina rivers and offshore deep water oils pills off the Gulf Coast. Buddying up with industry to allow murder and extinction by pollution.

15) Fracking, Tar Sands, Mountaintop Removal Coal Mining, Offshore Oil Drilling, the Extinction of Organic Agriculture and Wild Salmon from unregulated GMO Agricultural Pollution. Oklahoma used to have 30-100 2.5 or greater magnitude earth quakes per year, but thanks to fracking, last year it jumped from 64 per year to 222 per year. So far this year it has had 94. In February. At this rate the state will have over 700 this year. And Exxon-Mobil CEO Rex Tillerson, whose company does fracking, has joined a lawsuit in Texas to stop a water tower near his home from being built for fracking. He’s concerned that his property’s value will drop.

16) The Tea Party’s Scott Taylor’s million dollar OPSEC 501(c)(4) “social welfare” organization to swiftboat Hillary Clinton. The IRS requires of such organizations that their activities not be primarily political. Yeah, right… Tell that to Darrell Issa! Its funders are invisible.

It was put together with Ben Smith, spokesperson of the Republican party political consultant-created Tea Party Express, which spent $350,000 to successfully get Scott Brown elected to the Senate in Massachusetts. TPE was created by the Our Country Deserves Better Sacramento PAC. Salon calls TPE a “kingmaker (and queenmaker)” and the New York Times considers it “one of the [Tea Party] movement’s most successful players.”

Former spokesperson for G.W. Bush’s Director of National Intelligence and Fox News pundit Chad Kolton is also a spokesperson for OPSEC, “whose members are primarily former U.S. special operations forces and intelligence community personnel.” (wikipedia)

17) NRA

18) Fox News and con talk radio pundits who dwelled on Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Bill Ayers, and Susan Rice for years, hypocritically condemning MSNBC after one week for witch-hunting Chris Christie–who is still lying to all of us and is still in office and is still unprosecuted!

19) Republicans vs VW Auto Workers UAW vote in Tennessee. Governor Bill Haslam created a blackmail threat lie to freak out the workers: auto suppliers won’t relocate to Chattanooga if you workers join the union!

Expanding this union-busting Republican conspiracy, State Senator Bo Watson threatened VW with losing state help if the UAW is voted in at the Chattanooga plant: “…any additional incentives… for expansion or otherwise will have a very tough time passing the Tennessee Senate.”

Then Republican Congressman gangster of intimidation Bob Corker, former mayor of Chattanooga, at first lied that he would not get involved in the vote, but then two days before the vote he offered a bribe–which was also a lie immediately refuted by the chairman of VW–to the workers: “…should the workers vote against the UAW, Volkswagen will announce in the coming weeks that it will manufacture its new midsize SUV, here in Chattanooga.”

Then, as you can always tell with a psychopath, he blamed his opponents for malicious intentions which are actually his own: “It’s about one thing. It’s about money, and it’s about power.” Obviously, to Corker, it was not about improving the lives and rights of workers or infusing their communities with increased consumer spending. He even warned of the unions as outside influences. Outside influences… at a Volkswagen plant!!

Even the pathological Republican loyalty oath cultist Grover Norquist started a national group with a lie for its name, “Center for Worker Freedom” (aka War is Peace, Terror is Joy) and rented billboards with hideous messages of manipulation and racism: “United Obama Workers: The UAW spends millions to elect liberal politicians including BARACK OBAMA workerfreedom.org,” and “Detroit: Brought to you by the UAW.”

Now Republican Pathocrat South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley has come out against creating any new union jobs in her state! “We don’t have unions in South Carolina because we don’t need unions in South Carolina because we’re gonna bring back slavery…. We discourage any companies that have unions from wanting to come to South Carolina because we don’t want to take the water…. Unions are trying to get in wherever they can. They’re getting desperate and so they are trying to sneak in anywhere they can. My job is to make sure that I keep kickin’ em out.” (OK, she didn’t say the part about slavery…, but she said the rest) Eric Holder needs to launch a RICO investifgation of Nikki Haley and the state government of Sout Carolina. It’s time for the feds to step in like LBJ did before in the South in the sixties.”

So much for Republicans truly wanting to keep Big Government (which is always bigger and more Big Brothery when it is in Republican hands anyway) from interfering with the affairs of private business for blatantly political reasons.

This is what a conspiracy of psychopathic Republicans looks like. The Archetype of Evil. Ed Schultz reports that UAW officials say, like a sighting of Satan (my words), “they have never seen anything like this. They were caught blind-sided.”

20) The shameless and unembarrassable Congressman Darrell Issa’s ongoing and seemingly relentless Congressional Oversight and Government Reform Committee Republican propaganda machine’s pathological whining over fabricated Benghazi and 501(c)(4) conspiracies, and now accusing President Obama of being an imperial president who must be impeached.

When Obama has signed fewer executive orders than any president since Grover Cleveland, and Republicans having signed the most, with a double-standard hypocrisy typical of a psychopath, Issa and the imperialist Republican war criminals have never threatened to bring George W. Bush or any other Republican criminal president to justice with impeachment and conviction. And George W. Bush not only signed way more executive orders than Obama, but actually overthrew the Presidency of the United States in a Supreme Court judicial coup. He engaged in conspiracies to wage illegal warfare, and his administration outted C.I.A. agent Valerie Plame. Obviously an impeachable offense.

21) Dana Milbank reminds us that, “Since the Republicans who are so desperate to go after Hillary Clinton exposed the existence of a secret C.I.A. facility in Benghazi, fifteen people there, who have been cooperating and helping the United States, have been killed.”

22) Texas Republican candidate for governor Greg Abbott has Ted Nugent shilling for him and arousing hatred among the electorate. Here’s the psychopathic wisdom of Ted Nugent:

Aug 22, 2007: “I was in Chicago and said, ‘Hey, Obama you might want to suck on one of these you punk.’ [holds up two machine guns] Obama, he’s a piece of shit, and I told him to suck on my machine gun. Let’s hear it for him. And then I was in New York. I said, ‘Hey Hillary, you might want to ride one of these into the sunset, you worthless bitch.’”

At gun show on January 17, 2014: “I have obviously failed to galvanize and prod and not shame enough Americans to be ever vigilant not to let a Chicago communist-raised, communist-educated, communist-nurtured subhuman mongrel, like the ACORN community organizer gangster Barack Hussein Obama to weasel his way into the top office of authority in the United States of America.”

On The Dennis Miller Show: “There was an incrementalism to what hapened in Germany and other places historically, where they came in slowly. And they started, you know, the power struggle between the different races, and the power struggle between different elements of society… I really believe that what we see with the IRS can be compared accurately and historically to the early maneuvers of people like jack booted thugs, like the brownshirts… I think he really wants to destroy America.”

On Erin Burnett’s OutFront on Feb. 24, 2014:

“I think the president is intentionally disassembling the greatest quality of life in the history of the world. I believe that he is creating class warfare intentionally to get Americans to draw this line in the sand where I have never seen such political discourse in all my life…. The concept of social justice and economic equality is truly bizarro. The president’s a bad man…. But for anyone to claim that I’m a racist or it had racist overtones is the typical crap that the propaganda ministry and the media, particularly most of your cohorts there, even though I got Piers Morgan’s ass thrown out and I’ll do the same with Don Lemon and Wolf Blitzer when I can….

“I would call it inflammatory speech when it’s your job to protect Americans and then you look into the television camera and say, what difference does it make that I failed in my job to provide security and we have four dead Americans? What difference does that make? Not to a chimpanzee or to Hillary Clinton, I guess it doesn’t matter…. Give me a break on that. I referenced no racial overtones there whatsoever. I was referencing people who would look in the camera with four dead Americans in Benghazi and refuse to be accountable and say, what difference does it make? You’ve either got to be a punk, a liar, grossly dishonest, dangerously anti-American, or some kind of animal to agree with that kind of stuff…. That’s the Saul Alinsky propaganda ministry running amuck like your goofball friend Paul Begala who claims that I’m a has-been. I just celebrated my 50th greatest tour. Fifty years, number one guitar player in Detroit last year. I’m a black guitar player from Detroit. Get over it…. Live on ERIN BURNETT OUTFRONT, CNN, Ted Nugent, remember the Alamo, February 24, 2014, I’m not going to call people names anymore.

However, I have a little escape clause here, because when I’m on stage singing “Wang Dang Sweet Poontang”, would you give me permission to go overboard on occasion? Please tell me you will….”

Nugent is a pedophile who has also admitted having sex with underaged girls, and thus committed statutory rape. He even wrote the Pedophiles’ National Anthem, “Jailbait”:

Jailbait you look so good to me.
Jailbait won’t you set me free.
Jailbait you look fine, fine, fine.
I know I’ve got to have you in a matter of time.

Well, I don’t care if you’re just thirteen.
You look too good to be true.
I just know that you’re probably clean.
There’s one lil’ thing I got to do to you.

And the particularly creepy stepfather lines:

It’s all right. It’s OK
I talked to you mama.
She said, “Go ahead.”
She said, “It’s quite all right.
Just be nice. Be nice. Go ahead, Ted
Go ahead. It’s OK. It’s all right.”

Nugent was a draft dodger refusing to fight in the Vietnam War according to Joe Madison on Al Sharpton’s Politics Nation, “because he wanted to continue to play rock ‘n roll, and even said that if he had been drafted and gone to Vietnam, he would have shot his own men!”

Abbott’s office’s pathocratic response was, “The controversy is what he said in the past. We are not endorsing Ted Nugent, he is supporting us…. I believe ted Nugent recognized his language was wrong and he rightly apologized… This is not the kind of language I would use or endorse in any way. It’s time to move beyond this.”

Republican Texas Governor Rick Perry on whether he would still campaign with Ted: “Ted and I have been on the stage together. He is a proud and a strong defender of the Constitution of the United States. We’ve all said things that we would like to real back in. I suggest to you that this is probably one of those for him. And he does that and… I don’t know.”

Tea Party pathocrat Texas Congressman Steve Stockman glorifying in their mutual psychopathy actually brought Nugent to the State of the Union address by President Obama.

You see, this is how psychopathy gets normalized in society, especially in our political discourse. I first started to realize how psychopathic Republicans in the federal government are when every single thing George W. Bush uttered was a lie, and then when the Supreme Court overthrew Gore’s presidency. No one seemed to notice. Not one Republican said, “Count all the votes!”

But Hastert, McConnell, Boenher, Cantor, et al normalized this kind of psychopathy when they didn’t censure the first birther member of the House or Senate who started ranting about Obama as a Kenyan communist with a fake birth certificate, which is a violation of House rules (and probably Senate rules too). In the House Code of Official Conduct, the first rule is, “A Member, Delegate, Resident Commissioner, officer, or employee of the House shall behave at all times in a manner that shall reflect creditably on the House.”

Representative Michelle Bachman herself recently said, “The President’s legacy will be the establishment of lawlessness in the United States. From stem to stern, this president has said,’The law doesn’t apply to me.’… Has he violated the law? In my opinion, yes. the president of the United States has violated the law. But we must have the support of the American people in order to have impeachment.”

24) Kappa Beta Phi

25) Texas Rep. Steve Stockman listed on his web site mostly endorsements by groups that did not endorse him, according to the Washington Post, including one “attributed to Howard Phillips, a conservative activist who died seven months before Stockman got in the race,” and one from the NRA, which endorsed his opponent.

26) From Think Progress: While the Republicans slammed the federal stimulus on its fifth anniversary, “over half of the GOP caucus praised the effects of the stimulus or took credit for the federal dollars in their home districts and states–despite repeatedly voting against it.”

Instead of blaming Boehner’s House for no action on job creation or reinvigorating the economy, Marco Rubio blamed Obama, deficit spending, and the stimulus for today’s unemployment and underemployment, the “astounding” number of people dropping out of the workforce, and the slow growth of the economy.

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell lied and called the stimulus “a tragedy to lament.” The tragedy is that the Republicans assured that the stimulus would be inadequate. Then they blamed the President for its inadequacy. “None of this was necessary. Republicans have always been willing to work with the president on reforms that would have broad bipartisan support.…”

This is the same guy who on the day of Obama’s inauguration said his number one priority was to destroy the Obama presidency. McConnell is a traitor who is actively sabotaging and dismantling our democracy, by, for example, filibustering under Obama half of all the nominees ever filibustered in the history of the nation, crippling federal courts and government agencies. First they break government and then they point out how much the government sucks in everything it tries to do.

27) Stand Your Ground

28) Republican governor of Wisconsin and public employees union-buster Scott Walker’s racist, sexist, homophobic emails. Emails also reveal that his Milwaukee County Executive staff did campaign business for Walker’s run for governor on government time. Six of Walker’s aides and allies were convicted of ethics violations, but the governor was never charged. The emails also reveal Walker had an extensive vote caging operation in conspiracy with out-of-state Teabaggers to suppress minority voting.

29) Paul Ryan was for defense cuts until President Obama announced those cuts. He actually makes policy only if Obama is against it. Obama’s cuts were even less that Ryan’s proposed budget agreement cuts to the military, but Ryan’s response was, “It’s disappointing that the President continues to use these vital funds as bargaining chips for higher taxes and more domestic spending.” He said this even though Hagel’s announcement included no new or higher taxes and no domestic spending proposals.

On December 10, however, after developing the Budget Agreement with Democrat Patty Murray, which had even more cuts to military spending than Obama’s proposals, he wrote, “I’m proud of this agreement. It reduces the deficit–without raising taxes. And it cuts spending in a smarter way.”

30) American Republicans involved in writing Uganda’s life sentence penalty law for being gay.

31) Arizona bill SB 1062 allowing business owners to refuse service to gay and lesbian customers.

There is the Republican Senators’ conspiracy to use the filibuster to shut down the operations of the Senate. Speaking of the debt ceiling, when are the Republicans going to pay for the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, especially if they force us to pay for unemployment benefits before agreeing to extend them? And who is going to pay the ultimate price for conspiring to get us into these illegal wars of global mass murder to begin with?

We might even see the “Affluenza” case in a new light. Ethan Couch’s excuse was that he has PTSD and the amoral corruption of his idle rich parents’ child-rearing behaviors somehow “broke” his conscience beyond his ability to fix it and take moral accountability for killing four people and severely injuring two more in a drunk driving accident. But maybe he was just born that way, heartless. Maybe he’s just a psychopath who got away with a con. Amoral as his filthy rich parents might be, how they raised him probably had nothing to do with any of this.

One might also see attacks on immigrants, access to abortion, and same-sex marriage rights, the minimum wage, and perpetuation of the War on Drugs in a new light. Maybe it’s not the degenerate medieval religious and political justifications that come out of the mouths of the legislators who kill medical options for women that motivate them. Maybe it’s just psychopathic deadness in their hearts and consciencelessness that propels this massive anti-American Women, Republican Big Government, anti-Liberty intrusion and wicked hatred into the lives and families of millions of women.

How much are pathocratic tendencies behind the U.S. military chain of command’s perpetuation of institutional tolerance of rape and sexual assaults? Senator Gillibrand reports that last year there were 26,000 cases of sexual assault and rape and unwanted sexual contact in the military. Only 3,000, 1 in 10, assaults are reported. Sixty-two percent of those who did report were retaliated against! It’s just like the Catholic Church’s institutional tolerance of pedophilia. And how dark is that!

Are the Supreme Court justices who overthrew the presidency of Al Gore psychopaths? How about Bush’s appointees, the deceptive PerJurors John Roberts and Samuel Alito, both of whom lied under oath during their confirmation hearings?

How about the status quo diversion for half a century of ten trillion dollars away from taking care of the needs and advancement of our people to engorge the militarists of the plutocracy, in order to fight the greatest fabricated myth of the twentieth century, the Cold War (Russia, China, Cuba, Nicaragua, and Grenada were never planning to invade and take over the United States).

Forget what these people say. You can’t believe anything they say. For they are indeed pathological liars. Maintain your vigilance! Learn how to do this from your brothers and sister back from war with PTSD. Keep your eyes on everything they actually do, especially the things they do over and over again that everyone lets them get away with. And ask yourself–especially before voting for them!–and your friends and neighbors, is what they are going to do going to ruthlessly, immorally, and needlessly kill someone or otherwise devastate lives?

That might be your tip-off that psychopathy is on the prowl.

Then ask yourself, how ruthless and cruel a nation do we want America to be? How generous and compassionate? E pluribus unum or not, America? We have to decide. Do we want to be a Great Nation, an emblem of righteousness to the rest of the world, or not? Do we want to be noble?

I have found that using the psychopathy checklist is the most accurate tool of prediction for modern times Republican behavior in Congress. With it I’ve been able to easily predict that the House budget deal would not lead to unemployment benefits getting passed in ensuing legislation, that there would be no gun control legislation, immigration reform, employment stimulus, or anything to deal with the climate crisis.

For example, Rep. Henry Waxman, co-chair of the Bicameral Task Force on Climate Change, reported that the Republican-led 112th Congress voted 53 times “to block action on climate change. House Republicans even voted to deny that climate change is occurring. And when Congressman Rush and I wrote to the leadership of the Energy and Commerce committee over twenty times requesting a hearing on the important developments related to climate change, we never received even a single response to our letters.”

The only reason, in the end, Boehner passed the debt ceiling bill this time is because his party is so psychopathic that they couldn’t come to agreement on how evil a national blackmail conspiracy they could all get behind if they threatened destroying the nation’s good credit once again.

When one understands psychopathy, it sheds new light on the movement to hate Obama: the Birthers and Tea Party. Every host on Fox News is a psychopath or at least a malignant narcissist. People only believe that Obama wasn’t born in the U.S. because Republican psychopaths in the media and government created and sustain the hatred and the ridiculous (to those not easily duped) lies. They discovered that if some people will believe that the earth was created in six days, you can get them to believe anything if you demagogue them with just the right Frank Luntz framing.

Then they elevate people like Ted Cruz’s Neo-Red Scare dad (and, AP reports, his “occasional political surrogate” who received “more than $16,700 in travel expenses and mileage reimbursement,” from Cruz’s Senate campaign.) Pastor Rafael Cruz, who said about Obama in 2012, “We have to unmask this man. This is a man that seeks to destroy all concept of God–and I will tell you what, this is classical marxist philosophy. Karl Marx very clearly said Marxism requires that we destroy God because government must become God…. If you have heard him recite the Pledge, he skips ‘under God.’ Never says those two words–“under God.”

The conservative journal, National Review, however, reports that “his son trusts his father’s political instincts, and instead of hiring a big-name Republican strategist to shepherd his ascent, he uses his father for the kind of guidance you’d expect from a consultant.” Nevertheless, Cruz lies about it, his office issuing, “Pastor Cruz does not speak for the senator.” But Wayne Slater reports about Rafael on Hardball, “He is talking and saying things that Ted Cruz wants him to say to particular constituencies…. The key here is not whether this is encumbered by facts or not. The key is that the audiences that Rafael Cruz is talking to believe every word of this…. Ted Cruz is his father’s son.”

During former Nebraska Republican Senator Chuck Hagel’s Secretary of Defense confirmation hearing last year, according to Politico, “Cruz used… video clips of Hagel being interviewed by Al-Jazeera to suggest the nominee espoused views hostile to Israel (and asked) whether North Korean sources may have funneled $200,000 to the nominee.”

Something that is particularly irksome is the mass media’s normalization of psychopathy, particularly Fox News and CNN, by having psychopaths on their shows as respected commentators every day. It doesn’t help that someone like Fareed Zakaria regularly has serial mass murderer and wanted war criminal Henry Kissinger on his show and treats him with deference as if Kissinger is somehow a more moral and righteous person than Michael Dunn. But Kissinger has murdered thousands more people than Michael Dunn has. Dunn isn’t a war criminal on the lam either.

Meet the Press allowed the ruthless Rep. Marsha Blackburn of Tennessee to echo and perpetuate on NBC the treacherous deception of the 2003 Frank Luntz climate memo to Republicans:

“The scientific debate is closing [against us] but not yet closed. There is still a window of opportunity to challenge the science… should the public come to believe that the scientific issues are settled, their views about global warming will change accordingly. Therefore, you need to continue to make the lack of scientific certainty a primary issue in the debate.”

Let’s not forget New Orleans Mayor Ray Negin and Connecticut Mayor John Rowland or, as Rachel Maddow pointed out, the New Jersey mayors of Newark, Camden, Paterson, Perth Amboy, Hoboken, Passaic, Asbury Park, Orange, Hamilton, and now Trenton Mayor Tony Mack, who since 2000, “have been convicted or pleaded guilty in corruption cases.”

As we consider the fate of the psychopathic “Loud Music” murderer, Michael Dunn, consider the fact that, especially to the peaceful muslims of the world, we have hundreds of Michael Dunns running Congress and murdering millions of people around the world, even if they only vote to pull the triggers and launch the drones and do say “under God” during the Pledge of Allegiance.

The psychopathic Republicans and fossil-fuel Dems in Congress and their Almost Psychopathic dupes have kept us from taking any action on the climate crisis for 33 years now! In each of the last three years major scientific reports have given us five years (until 2017) to redirect our energy policy away from fossil fuels.

I’m calling for President Obama to declare a climate crisis national security emergency and launch a “national emergency conversion effort” to get off fossil fuels as fast as humanly possible, in ten years or less, with the sustained focus and energy as our response to Hitler and Japan.

Wake up America! It’s only the end of the world if we don’t oust these Boehner/McConnell/Teabagger psychopaths from power!

So as you watch these Republican liars on TV from here on out and see them talk as if they have no conscience, please, please, please, my fellow American, realize that they really don’t! No matter how much you expose their lies, they are never shamed, never embarrassed, they never feel guilty, and they never stop telling them.

Consider the word evil and what we mean when we say we have experienced someone or some situation as evil. I would suggest to you that from a natural sciences perspective, what people were truly experiencing were simply the dead hearts and ruthless cruelty of psychopaths.

We must now acknowledge the reality is that we have allowed the psychopathic and traitorous Republican party to become the largest and most lethal organized crime syndicate and terrorism network in world history.

To this day they are still shilling for a devastating, planet-killing austerity and deregulation and fossil fueled economic program that has now conclusively been proven a catastrophic failure everywhere in the world that it has been tried. Republicans have nothing more of value and effective functionality to offer modern America than do the Whigs.

When are we going to confront the fact that when the Republicans pretend there is no threat from global warming they are traitors. They are subverting our national security for the benefit of fossil-fuel and militarist psychopathic plutocratic enemies of you and me, our kids, our nation, the land and seas, and the rest of creation, and everything else we love. There are no jobs and no property or second amendment rights on a dead planet!

It’s no different than paid-off traitorous leaders loyal to a foreign enemy intentionally lying to convince their citizens that there is no need to arm against their enemy, to the point where the enemy can invade and conquer the nation.

And consider what that means for your children and grandchildren if we don’t change the situation very, very, very soon.

You know, if I was talking about pedophiles in Congress and not psychopaths, those people would be drummed right out of Congress. Psychopaths should get the same scrutiny, especially when entire political parties engage in conspiracies to wage wanton criminal wars of conquest and genocide.

It’s time for a Climate Nuremberg of Congress: Saboteurs of National Security.
